2027: Tinubu likely to retain Shettima as running mate – Aso Rock villa source confirms
Amid speculations that President Bola Tinubu may drop his Vice President, Kashim Shettima in 2027 presidential election, a privilege information made available to the media at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa indicated that shettima would be retained as running mate to President Tinubu.
Tinubu was said to have flashed back to the 2023 presidential election and recalled the troublesome ‘Muslim-Muslim’ joint ticket and was considering to avoid the trouble, but he was said to have considered the risk of not picking Shettima, given that North is muslim dominated.
The source said Tinubu did not later entertained discussion about replacing Shettima with another person particularly a northern minority Christian.
“The president will run with Shettima. You can file it away. Stop worrying about the rumour. He will,”
The source hinted that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would be victorious much more in 2027 as evidences are clear.
“We (the APC) are winning the next election, that is all I know. Walahi!”
