INEC lists 811 voter registration centres, gets 151 party requests

The Independent National Electoral Commission has released the list of 811 centres nationwide where eligible Nigerians can participate in the upcoming Continuous Voter Registration.
According to the Commission, the CVR exercise will begin with online pre-registration on August 18, while in-person registration at designated centres will follow on August 25, 2025.

The registration will run till August 30, 2026, and will hold Mondays to Fridays between 9am and 3pm, excluding public holidays.
INEC disclosed this in a statement signed by National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, after its weekly meeting on Thursday, August 7.

The Commission said the 811 centres include offices in all 774 local government areas, the 36 states, and the Federal Capital Territory.
To make access easier, INEC said a CVR Live Locator will go live on August 17, a day before the exercise begins. It can be accessed via: https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/locator.
A 38-page document containing the full list of registration centres has been uploaded to the Commission’s website and other official online platforms. Each state will also have a dedicated help desk number for public enquiries.
“The procedure for both the online and in-person registrations remains the same as was the case in 2022. Detailed information on the process, including video clips, will be released by the Commission next week,” the statement read.
INEC also revealed that eight new associations have submitted letters of intent to register as political parties, bringing the total number of requests to 151.
The details of these associations including their proposed names, acronyms, logos, and interim leadership have been published on the Commission’s website.
INEC said it has developed a party registration portal and has begun shortlisting associations that meet requirements to proceed to the next stage.
However, the list of qualified associations will be released after the conclusion of 16 bye-elections scheduled to hold in 12 states on August 16, 2025.
Olumekun assured Nigerians that the Commission will continue to keep the public informed of its activities.
