‘Atiku, David Mark behind PDP’s woes’, personal interest will collide in ADC coalition – Bode George

Reacting to the newly formed coalition by aggrieved members of political parties using the Action Democratic Congress, ADC, Chief Bode George, a founding father of the now sickening Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has chided the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and the former Senate President, David Bonaventure Mark, accusing the duo of responsible for PDP’s woes.
He described their emigration to ADC-led coalition as “illogical, ill-timed and lacking in substance”, envisaging that the coalition will soon be riddled with conflict of interest that will not take them far, as the development has nothing to do with prioritizing the interest of the nation, but self aggrandizement.

“If it is not self-aggrandisement, what are they running away from?” he queried while speaking to the Nigerian Tribune.
According to him, the political emigrants would have remained in PDP to pursue their ambition, rather than abandoning what he termed as their “house” to go aboding in another person’s house.

Speaking with journalists in Lagos, the elder states man recalled how he often appeal to them to rethink their way back to PDP, stressing that if they don’t return, things should be left the way there are.
According to him, coalition abandoned PDP when they ought to have united to challenge President Bola Tinubu and push him out of office.
George said: “Is dumping the PDP and forming a coalition the right way to send President Tinubu out of office?”
He insisted that they are pursuing personal ambitions in coalition political adventure, rather than the corporate interest of the nation, wondering what both personalities are looking for in coalition, having messed up the Peoples Democratic Party at the last national convention.
“You don’t need a degree to see that it’s illogical”, he said.
He further declared that everyone in the coalition was out to contest for presidency in 2027, except Rauf Aregbesola who came from the All Progressives Congress, APC which he said, the arrangement will collapse under the weight of its contradictions.
George, however, urged them to return to the PDP and contribute to rebuilding what he described as “the broken walls of the nation.”
